New Allegations Rock Director Rahul Mamkootathil: Bengaluru Woman Files Sexual Assault Complaint

A startling new complaint has emerged against director and actor Rahul Mamkootathil, involving serious allegations of sexual assault and a false promise of marriage. This time, a woman from Bengaluru has come forward, adding another layer to a story that, frankly, has seen similar claims surface before. The woman, whose identity remains protected, recounts meeting Mamkootathil at an awards ceremony in Bengaluru, an event where many connections are often forged. From that initial encounter, a relationship reportedly blossomed. However, her account quickly takes a darker turn. She alleges that during this period, he repeatedly forced himself upon her, all while painting a picture of a future together, a promise of marriage that, according to her, was never meant to be kept.

Things took a distressing turn when, she claims, Mamkootathil began to distance himself. When she tried to confront him about the broken promises and the alleged assaults, the situation, it seems, escalated into threats and intimidation. Distraught, and with her parents now aware of the situation after they too reportedly tried to speak with him to no avail, she felt compelled to act. The complaint was formally lodged at the Cheranalloor police station, outlining serious charges under the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 376 (rape), 420 (cheating), 506 (criminal intimidation), 354A (sexual harassment), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

For those unfamiliar, Rahul Mamkootathil is known in the Malayalam film industry as a director, actor, and producer, notably for his work on the film "Mamangam." But this isn't the first time he's faced such accusations. Back in 2021, a woman from Kozhikode also filed a complaint against him, alleging sexual assault. Interestingly, that particular case was eventually withdrawn following what was described as a compromise between the parties involved.

The re-emergence of such grave allegations, particularly with the history of a previous complaint, undoubtedly raises serious questions.
