In the quiet pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, a terrifying cloudburst descended upon Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district, unleashing an unimaginable torrent of water and mud that has left a wide swath of devastation in its wake. The sudden and intense downpour, striking around 4 AM, transformed peaceful landscapes into a chaotic scene of ruin, catching residents off guard as the raw power of nature unfurled.

The village of Gadvi in the Ghumarwin sub-division bore the brunt of this natural calamity.

Eyewitnesses describe a terrifying roar as the skies opened up, sending a colossal wave of debris, boulders, and water rushing down the hillsides. Agricultural fields, particularly those cultivating paddy, which were once the lifeline for many local families, have been completely obliterated, washed away by the relentless force of the deluge.

Beyond the agricultural devastation, the cloudburst also claimed material possessions. At least two Bolero vehicles were tragically engulfed and buried under the massive piles of debris, rendered unrecognizable by the sheer volume and velocity of the mudslide.

Several residential houses have also suffered significant damage, with foundations compromised and structures weakened, leaving families displaced and in urgent need of shelter and support.
