Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim Unveil ‘You Can See Everything,’ a Documentary Inside Elizabeth Holmes’ Last Days

If you thought you’d seen every angle of Elizabeth Holmes, think again. At this year’s Telluride Film Festival, comedian‑director Nathan Fielder (of Schitt’s Creek fame) and filmmaker Lance Oppenheim slipped a fresh documentary into the lineup that feels part true‑crime, part surreal family sit‑down.

The film, titled You Can See Everything, follows Holmes in the months leading up to her 2023 transfer to prison. What makes it oddly intimate is that Fielder actually moved in with Holmes and her husband, Billy Evans, sharing a roof – and a newborn – while the cameras rolled.

The A24‑released teaser gives a taste of the strange dynamic. Holmes looks directly at the camera, eyes wide, and tells a skeptical Fielder, “Why would I lie? I’m always being real.” The camera then pulls back to reveal her cradling her baby, a scene that feels both ordinary and unsettlingly staged.

According to the official synopsis, the documentary begins “thirty‑four days before she’s sent to prison” and spirals into a “mind‑bending three‑year journey into the abyss.” In reality, the crew spent three years capturing the Holmes household, a fact that left even the seasoned filmmakers baffled.

During a Q&A after the Telluride screening, Fielder admitted that even after all that footage, he still can’t quite decode what he witnessed. “Lance and I would sit down with the crew and try to make sense of moments, but nobody could agree on a single interpretation,” he said. “It’s weird, because we’re all pretty smart, yet this house feels like an unsolvable puzzle.”

He went on to say he hopes audiences will help him untangle the experience. “I’m still struggling to understand exactly what I went through,” Fielder confessed. “When the movie finally hits theaters, maybe other people will see something I missed.”

Holmes, sentenced in 2022 to 11 years and three months for defrauding investors with her bogus blood‑testing tech, has already seen her term reduced twice. She’s slated for release on August 16, 2032. The documentary is set for an October theatrical release, though A24 hasn’t pinned down a specific date yet.
