Menifee Brush Fire Quickly Contained After Burning About 7 Acres

At around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, a brush fire sparked on a hillside near the south end of Menifee, right around the intersection of Garbani Road and Pitman Lane. By the time crews arrived, the flames were already licking through dry vegetation, threatening to spread.

Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department dispatched several engines to the scene. You could hear the hum of the pumps and the clatter of hoses as firefighters fanned out, working methodically to keep the fire from jumping onto nearby terrain.

Luckily, the blaze stayed confined to roughly seven acres of brush. No homes, businesses, or other structures were put at risk, and, perhaps most importantly, no one was hurt. As the evening rolled in, crews reported that full containment was achieved by about 7 p.m., effectively snuffing out the fire’s momentum.

The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation. Authorities have not yet released details on what sparked the ignition, but they’re treating the incident as a reminder of how quickly dry conditions can turn a small spark into a sizable flare‑up.

While the day’s events could have taken a turn for the worse, the coordinated response from fire officials kept damage to a minimum. Residents in the surrounding neighborhoods were briefed on the situation, and the area returned to normal by nightfall.
