Mendham's Lacrosse Prowess Shines: Shoulberg Dominates in Key Victory

What a game it was on Wednesday! The ninth-ranked Mendham girls' lacrosse squad truly showed up, securing a solid 12-8 victory over Immaculate Heart. Playing on their home turf, the Minutemen continued their strong start to the season, demonstrating why they're a force to be reckoned with.

Leading the charge, undoubtedly, was the phenomenal Emily Shoulberg. She was simply unstoppable, netting an incredible six goals and dishing out two assists throughout the contest. When she's on, she's really on, making things happen all over the field and proving to be a constant threat. Her performance alone was a major reason Mendham managed to pull ahead and maintain their lead.

But it wasn't just a one-woman show, not at all. Sara Shulman contributed beautifully to the offense with a pair of goals and an assist, while Skylar Furtado also found the back of the net twice. Ellie Roberts and Gianna DiMichele each chipped in with a crucial goal, rounding out a truly cohesive offensive effort. And let's not forget Emily Kolen in goal, who made a fantastic 10 saves, denying Immaculate Heart some crucial opportunities and holding the line.

Immaculate Heart, despite the loss, certainly didn't go down without a fight. Bella Recinos led their scoring with a commendable four goals, showcasing her offensive prowess and determination. Emma Bitting added two, and both Alexa Torticill and Gianna Grifonetti managed to score one apiece. Their goalie, Ella Finnegan, was kept busy throughout the game, making eight saves as she tried her best to keep IHA in contention.

With this impressive win, Mendham now boasts an excellent 4-1 record, a truly promising start to their campaign. Immaculate Heart, now standing at 1-4, will surely be looking to bounce back in their upcoming matches.
