HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. – A quiet afternoon in Hacienda Heights was shattered by a terrifying home burglary on Saturday, where masked intruders not only ransacked a residence but also brazenly threatened a concerned neighbor with a firearm.

The harrowing incident unfolded around 12:40 p.m.

in the 1600 block of Lomalinda Drive. According to Deputy Brenda Serna of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, at least two masked individuals forced their way into a home. The property owner was reportedly not present at the time of the break-in, but the disturbance quickly drew the attention of a vigilant neighbor.

As the neighbor approached to investigate the suspicious activity, they were met with a chilling confrontation.

The suspects, whose faces were obscured, allegedly brandished a handgun, intimidating the neighbor before making their swift escape. This aggressive act escalated the crime from a simple property theft to a potentially violent encounter, sending shockwaves through the typically tranquil community.

Authorities report that after the terrifying interaction, the masked burglars quickly fled the scene in a white sedan, leaving behind a shaken neighborhood and an active crime scene.
