Malden’s Downtown Comes Alive for Hispanic Heritage Festival

On Saturday, September 19, the heart of Malden will beat to the rhythm of Hispanic culture. From noon until four o’clock, the City Hall Plaza transforms into a lively celebration organized by the North Shore Hispanic Association.

Visitors can expect a lineup of music that ranges from the upbeat sounds of Primera Clase to traditional folk tunes that make you want to tap your feet. Dancers in colorful costumes will swirl across the stage, offering a glimpse of the rich dance traditions that span Latin America.

Of course, no festival is complete without food. Food trucks and vendors will line the plaza, serving everything from tacos and empanadas to sweet churros—perfect bites for families strolling through.

Art lovers won’t be left out either. Local artists will display paintings, sculptures, and crafts, while “El Mercadito,” a bustling marketplace, gives entrepreneurs, artisans and small businesses a chance to showcase their wares.
