Kolkata Weather Alert: Heavy Rain Expected Across Six West Bengal Districts

Earlier today the Alipore weather office sounded the alarm: a low‑pressure system has teamed up with an active monsoon trough, and the result is a wet, windy spell that will touch both North and South Bengal. Temperatures are likely to linger around a comfortable 32 °C during the day and dip to about 26 °C at night.

Up north, Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar are also feeling the wet‑weather bite. Both districts are expected to see heavy rain until Tuesday, and there’s a chance the meteorological office could re‑issue alerts for them later in the week.

Quick temperature check for Kolkata: Monday morning saw a minimum of 28.7 °C – a touch above normal – while Sunday’s maximum hit 32.4 °C, right on the expected mark. So while the city stays out of the orange‑alert bracket, the overall feel will be muggy and a bit sticky.
