Key Outcomes Expected from the 95th BCCI AGM in Mumbai

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gathered its members at the Mumbai headquarters on Friday for the 95th Annual General Meeting. Around a dozen senior figures, including President Mithun Manhas, Vice‑President Rajeev Shukla and former chief Sourav Ganguly, took their seats, ready to tick off a packed agenda.

First on the list: the men’s selection committee will get a fresh chief. While names have been tossed around behind closed doors, the AGM is expected to seal the appointment, a move that could reshape the composition of India’s senior and ‘A’ squads.

Alongside that, the meeting will nominate India’s representative to the International Cricket Council (ICC). The post, often overlooked, holds sway over voting rights and policy influence, so the choice will be watched closely by administrators and fans alike.

The New Zealand itinerary is hefty: five T20 Internationals, five One‑Day Internationals and a two‑Test set‑up. A parallel ‘shadow tour’ sees India ‘A’ play three unofficial Tests against their New Zealand counterparts, giving fringe players a chance to impress before the senior Tests commence.

All eyes will also linger on Rohit Sharma. The veteran opener, fresh from a blistering century at Lord’s, remains a central figure. His role in the New Zealand tour could provide clues about the long‑term plan for the top order, especially after his continued inclusion for the West Indies series.
