Kate Beckinsale attended the Golden Globes as a presenter, then hit the Netflix party. But she ended her night in a hospital, where her stepfather, TV director Roy Battersby , is recovering from a stroke. The British actress has been caring for her mother and stepfather as they struggle with serious illnesses.

Beckinsale shared red carpet photos on her Instagram, then posted two images showing her sitting in a hospital room, still wearing her gown from the event. The hospital images have since been blacked out. It is unclear if an emergency prompted Beckinsale to rush to the hospital. Beckinsale has been candid about the family issues. Last month, she asked for social media support. “We need a miracle,” she wrote. “This week has taken an even scarier turn involving the health of my beloved stepdad, Roy, and we need every tiny scrap of love and magic in the hope he pulls through.” She added that if people “would be kind enough to send healing energy his way, I’d be so grateful.
