Kairi Sane Hints at a New Chapter as She Prepares for First Post‑WWE Appearance

Former NXT Champion Teases Future Plans Ahead of Jericho Cruise Debut

Kairi Sane, fresh off her WWE release, will step back onto a wrestling stage aboard Chris Jericho’s cruise ship next month and hints that bigger things may be on the horizon.

Kairi Sane hasn’t set foot in a wrestling ring since WWE let her go in April, part of the usual post‑WrestleMania roster shake‑up. The former NXT Women’s Champion surprised many when she vanished from TV after a high‑profile feud with Iyo Sky and Asuka.

Now she’s gearing up for a return – but not to the big‑ticket promotions just yet. Sane has confirmed she’ll be aboard the Chris Jericho Rock ‘N’ Wrestling Rager cruise that sails the first weekend of November. While a specific match hasn’t been disclosed, the event will mark her first in‑ring appearance since the WWE door closed.

“I got a truly wonderful offer from the Jericho Cruise,” Sane told Weekly Pro Wrestling. “The idea of working on a ship as the ‘Pirate Princess’ really excites me. After leaving WWE, I wanted my first wrestling‑related activity to be something I genuinely wanted to do, and this was it.”

Beyond the cruise, Sane hinted that talks are underway for a more permanent comeback. She declined to spill details, but promised fans “various things are already in motion.” She added that she’s loving the chance to challenge herself with new experiences and that when she returns to the squared circle, she’ll be “more excited than ever before.”

Fans are already speculating about a possible jump to All Elite Wrestling. A Kairi‑AEW signing would give the women’s division a significant boost, especially since she already has history with current champion Mercedes Mone. The two first faced off after Kairi’s WWE exit at New Japan’s Battle in the Valley, where Mone came out on top.

If Kairi lands in AEW, dream match‑ups could include Thekla, Kris Statlander, Athena, Jaime Hayter or Maya World. Many also hope for a showdown with Toni Storm – a former world champion with whom Kairi shares a past, and who teased a return at AEW’s recent WrestleDream event.

Remember, Kairi made history as the inaugural winner of WWE’s Mae Young Classic back in 2017. Whatever comes next, the wrestling world will be watching closely as the “Pirate Princess” plots her next big adventure.
