Inferno Engulfs Virudhunagar Automobile Workshop, Decimating Cars and Bikes

Imagine the scene: dawn just breaking, around half-past five on a tranquil Friday morning. Suddenly, the quiet is shattered by the terrifying roar and crackle of a massive fire. This was the stark reality for an automobile workshop located right on the bustling Sivakasi-Virudhunagar road, near Anaiyur in Virudhunagar district, as a devastating inferno took hold.

The blaze, suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit, spread with alarming speed. A workshop, by its very nature, is a tinderbox – filled with flammable liquids like oil and fuel, rubber tires, and various spare parts. Once the flames truly ignited, there was little hope of containing them easily. It was a race against time for anyone nearby.

When the dust settled, or rather, when the smoke finally cleared, the extent of the destruction was truly heartbreaking. Ten cars, precious assets for their owners, and a staggering twenty two-wheelers were utterly consumed by the fire. Reduced to twisted, charred metal and ash, they were beyond recognition, beyond repair. The workshop structure itself, the very place of livelihood, suffered extensive damage, as did a neighboring shop specializing in car spare parts. One can only imagine the shock and despair of the owners witnessing such a monumental loss.
