It's always a balancing act, isn't it? Enjoying a grand spectacle while trying to keep the city's pulse steady.

So, for roughly two weeks, from January 18th right through to January 31st, anyone navigating the areas around Begumpet Airport found themselves needing a bit of a roadmap rethink. The traffic diversions were primarily in effect between 9 AM and 6 PM each day, essentially covering the bulk of the air show's operational hours and, let's be honest, the busiest parts of the day for most of us.

The core idea was to manage the flow, especially around key junctions like Greenlands, Prakashnagar, and Rasoolpura. Imagine trying to get from Punjagutta or Greenlands towards Begumpet Airport. Instead of your usual straight shot, commuters were gently guided to take a right at Greenlands, then a quick left at the Rajiv Gandhi Statue in Prakashnagar. From there, it was a smooth run towards CTO, followed by another left that would lead them directly to the Begumpet Airport road. A little detour, perhaps, but certainly manageable with a bit of foresight.

And for those coming the other direction, say from Begumpet or CTO and heading towards Greenlands or Punjagutta? Well, a similar pattern applied. They were advised to make a right at Prakashnagar, swinging towards the Rajiv Gandhi Statue, and then a left at Greenlands, putting them back on track for Punjagutta. It sounds like a bit of a dance, I know, but it was all designed to keep things moving as smoothly as possible, preventing gridlock as people flocked to catch a glimpse of the aircraft.

What about the larger vehicles, or those journeying from further afield, like Bowenpally, Secunderabad, or Karkhana, and aiming for the airport? They too had their specific routes mapped out. These drivers were diverted via CTO, then Prakashnagar, the Rajiv Gandhi Statue, Greenlands, and finally towards Punjagutta. Conversely, if you were leaving the airport and heading towards Secunderabad or Bowenpally, the route would take you via Greenlands and Punjagutta before you could continue to your destination. Even our city's essential RTC buses followed these updated paths, ensuring public transport remained effective amidst the temporary changes.
