Hyderabad residents and those across several Telangana districts should brace themselves for a significant shift in weather patterns as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, forecasting light to moderate rainfall on Monday, September 25. This advisory comes as the region anticipates a fresh bout of monsoon activity, potentially bringing relief from the recent dry spells in some areas, while also urging caution.

The IMD's forecast indicates that the capital city, Hyderabad, along with its adjacent areas, is likely to experience varying intensities of rain throughout the day.

While generally categorized as light to moderate, there is a distinct possibility of heavy rainfall in isolated pockets across certain districts, making vigilance crucial for commuters and residents alike.

The yellow alert, a signal to 'be updated' and prepare for potential disruptions, extends to a broad spectrum of districts across Telangana.

Key areas under this advisory include Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

This widespread alert underscores the expectation of a significant weather event impacting a large part of the state.

Looking back at the preceding 24 hours, Hyderabad recorded a maximum temperature of 31.8°C, which is considered normal for this time of year, while the minimum temperature settled at 22.8°C, also within the typical range.

However, the city's outskirts and neighboring areas experienced more substantial rainfall. Chilkur in Ranga Reddy district registered the highest rainfall at 51.5 mm, closely followed by Uppal in Medchal Malkajgiri, which received 42.8 mm of precipitation. These figures indicate that localized heavy showers were already a feature, hinting at the potential for similar or stronger events on September 25.

For Tuesday, September 26, the IMD predicts a generally cloudy sky over Hyderabad with a continued likelihood of light rain or drizzle.

Residents can expect maximum temperatures to hover around 32°C, with minimums around 23°C. This suggests that the cooler, wetter conditions are likely to persist, offering a temporary reprieve from the hotter climes but also necessitating continued awareness of the changing weather dynamics.
