Heroic Rescue Operation Saves Over 40 from Blazing Pune Apartment Complex

In a dramatic display of swift action and coordinated emergency response, over 40 residents, including vulnerable senior citizens and young children, were safely evacuated from a residential building in Pune's bustling Guruwar Peth after a fierce fire erupted in its parking lot. The incident, which occurred early on Monday morning, saw the Jaimalata building quickly enveloped in thick, suffocating smoke, prompting an urgent call for help that was met with exemplary efficiency by the Pune Fire Brigade and Pune City Police.

The alarm was raised around 7:15 AM when residents discovered flames rapidly consuming two-wheelers and four-wheelers parked on the ground floor.

The intensity of the blaze not only caused significant material damage – at least 20 two-wheelers and two cars were gutted – but also filled the multi-story structure with dense smoke, trapping residents in their homes and stairwells. The immediate concern was the safe evacuation of those inside, many of whom were still asleep or just beginning their day.

Upon arrival, multiple fire tenders and rescue teams from the Pune Municipal Corporation Fire Department (PMCFD) and Pune City Police immediately sprang into action.
