Heroic Rescue: Army Porter Found Alive After 20 Harrowing Days in Arunachal's Wilderness

A wave of immense relief has swept across Arunachal Pradesh as Indian Army porter Gindin Gonli, 35, was miraculously rescued on November 18, 2023, after an agonizing 20-day disappearance in the treacherous, dense forests of the Upper Siang district. Gonli, who was engaged with the Indian Army for daily ration and supply duties, had gone missing on October 29, triggering a massive, multi-agency search operation.

His disappearance plunged his family and colleagues into deep concern, as the unforgiving terrain and harsh weather conditions of the region presented a formidable challenge to any search efforts.
