Heartbreaking Tragedy: Father and Two Sons Drown During Ganesh Immersion in Rajasthan

A pall of profound grief has descended upon Rajasthan’s Rajsamand district following a heartbreaking incident during the sacred Lord Ganesh idol immersion. In a tragic turn of events that has left a community reeling, a father and his two young sons drowned while performing the revered ritual.

The devastating incident unfolded in the Charbhuja area of the district, near Boraj village.

Shravan Singh, a 40-year-old father, along with his 18-year-old son Pankaj and 15-year-old son Yash, had gone to immerse a Ganesh idol in a local water body. What began as an act of devotion quickly transformed into an unimaginable tragedy as the trio, under circumstances still being pieced together, slipped into the deep waters.

Local reports and preliminary police investigations suggest that the family may have lost their footing in the treacherous depths, leading to their drowning.

The joyous atmosphere typically associated with the Ganesh immersion festival was shattered by the discovery of their lifeless bodies. The news sent shockwaves through the village, where family, friends, and neighbors gathered in disbelief and sorrow.

Station House Officer (SHO) Shankar Lal confirmed the devastating news, stating that the bodies of Shravan Singh, Pankaj, and Yash were subsequently retrieved from the water.

The community now mourns the loss of three lives from a single family, a poignant reminder of the unforeseen dangers that can sometimes accompany even the most cherished traditions.
