Heartbreak in Delhi: A Child's Life Lost to a Reckless E-Rickshaw

A lively four-year-old girl, Surbhi, who was simply playing outside her home on a service road in the Palam area, tragically lost her life. She was mowed down by an e-rickshaw, an everyday vehicle that suddenly became an instrument of fate.

The incident, as police officials recounted, unfolded around 7:45 PM. Surbhi, like any child her age, was engrossed in play, enjoying the waning hours of the day near her residence. The driver of the e-rickshaw, identified as 23-year-old Rahul Kumar, reportedly failed to spot her. In a heartbreaking moment, the vehicle collided with the little girl, causing her to fall and sustain severe head injuries. One can only imagine the terror and chaos that must have ensued.

Immediately, Surbhi was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital, a desperate race against time as her loved ones hoped for a miracle. But despite the valiant efforts of those around her and the medical staff, it was tragically too late. The doctors, with heavy hearts, declared her brought dead. A life, barely begun, extinguished so suddenly and senselessly.

In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the driver, Rahul Kumar, reportedly panicked and fled the scene.
