Gurugram Rocked: Husband Stabs Wife to Death in Horrific Alcohol-Fueled Rage

Gurugram was plunged into shock and grief this weekend following the horrific murder of a 35-year-old woman, allegedly at the hands of her own husband. The tragic incident, fueled by an insatiable demand for alcohol, has once again cast a harsh light on the pervasive issue of domestic violence.

Rekha, a resident of Sukhrali village, lost her life in a brutal attack on Friday night after she reportedly refused to give her 40-year-old husband, Vinod Kumar, money for alcohol.

According to police, Vinod, a labourer with a history of alcoholism and violent behaviour, repeatedly stabbed Rekha with a kitchen knife during a heated argument.

The grim discovery was made by Rekha's brother-in-law, Kamal, who lives in the vicinity. Disturbed by unusual noises emanating from the couple's home, Kamal rushed over to investigate.

What he found was a scene of unspeakable horror: Rekha lying in a pool of blood, gravely injured. Vinod Kumar had already fled the scene, leaving his wife to die.

Kamal immediately alerted the authorities, and police from the Sector 14 police station swiftly launched an investigation. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Vinod Kumar under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, pertaining to murder.

Police sources revealed that Vinod was known to frequently assault Rekha physically whenever she resisted his demands for money to fuel his alcohol addiction, painting a disturbing picture of ongoing abuse that tragically culminated in her death.

The couple shared two children, a 13-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter, who were reportedly asleep or in another room at the time of the horrifying attack.

They now face the unimaginable reality of losing their mother to an act of extreme violence and their father to the justice system.

Thanks to the swift action of the Gurugram police, Vinod Kumar was apprehended on Saturday morning. His arrest brings a measure of justice to the horrific crime, yet it cannot undo the profound loss and trauma inflicted upon Rekha's family and the wider community.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences of addiction and unchecked domestic violence, urging a deeper societal reflection on protecting vulnerable individuals within their own homes.
