Guelph Businesses Rocked as Audacious Thief Drops In Through the Roof

Imagine showing up to work, coffee in hand, ready to start the day, only to find a gaping hole in your ceiling and your livelihood ransacked. That's the unwelcome reality two Guelph businesses woke up to this past Friday morning. It wasn't a simple smash-and-grab through a door or window, but something far more audacious: a thief had actually dropped in from above, literally through the roof.

Police were called to a building situated conveniently near the bustling intersection of Stone Road West and Edinburgh Road South, around 7 a.m. The scene was quite something. Our nimble intruder managed to access a rooftop hatch, then proceeded to tear right through the ceiling, leaving a trail of debris and destruction in their wake at not one, but two separate establishments. What a mess to come back to, right?

From one unfortunate business, the culprit made off with some cold hard cash and even a safe – talk about a heavy haul! The second business, while perhaps slightly luckier, still reported a loss, with a small amount of equipment missing. It's never just 'stuff' when it's your business, is it? Thankfully, it seems our daring thief wasn't entirely camera-shy. Surveillance footage managed to capture a glimpse of the individual, who was seen sporting a distinctive blue sweater with some white writing on the front. They were also wearing jeans, white shoes, a colourful, perhaps multicoloured, bandana, and gloves – presumably to avoid leaving any tell-tale fingerprints. Every detail helps, right?
