Kolkata-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) Ltd has announced a monumental stride onto the international stage, securing a significant $62.4 million contract with Germany's Carsten Rehder. This landmark deal, valued at approximately Rs 522 crore, will see GRSE constructing four state-of-the-art multi-purpose vessels for the Hamburg-based shipping company, signalling a pivotal shift in the Indian shipyard's strategic direction.

Historically recognized for its robust contributions to India's defence sector, GRSE has long been a stalwart in building warships, patrol vessels, and landing craft for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard.
