Greene Slams Loomer's 'Racist' Remarks, Declares 'Done' with Trump's New GOP

In a move that’s certainly sending ripples through conservative circles, former Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has unequivocally denounced recent remarks made by right-wing influencer Laura Loomer. Greene didn't mince words, calling Loomer's statements 'nasty, hateful, racist,' and going so far as to declare, quite emphatically, 'This is Trump's new MAGA and Republican Party, and I want nothing to do with it.'

The controversy ignited late last month when Loomer, a self-described conservative reporter and known Donald Trump confidant, targeted Florida state Representative Angie Nixon, a Democrat running for the Senate. Loomer's shocking video, which emerged around August 28th, reportedly contained deeply demeaning and racist language, labeling Nixon 'ghetto,' using a 'B' expletive, and even comparing her to a dog. These offensive posts, shared over the August 29-30 weekend, quickly drew widespread criticism, though perhaps not from the quarters Greene expected.

Greene, sharing a screenshot of the egregious exchange on X (formerly Twitter), publicly implored both former President Trump and the wider Republican Party to 'reject' Loomer and her deplorable behavior. The silence, or perhaps inaction, from many in the GOP, seems to have only hardened Greene's resolve. She pointedly remarked that their refusal to distance themselves from Loomer 'tells you everything you need to know' about the direction of the party. Furthermore, Greene suggested that Loomer’s inflammatory comments could actually undermine the Republican incumbent, Ashley Moody, who is running against Nixon.

Of course, Loomer wasn't about to take Greene's condemnation lying down. She quickly fired back, dubbing Greene 'Marjorie Traitor Greene' and ironically accusing her of racism for defending Nixon. Loomer also dredged up old accusations, claiming Greene had once hired Milo Yiannopoulos, who allegedly plotted against Trump. It’s a bitter exchange, to say the least, laying bare deep ideological and personal fractures.

This public break isn't an isolated incident for Marjorie Taylor Greene. It follows her recent resignation from Congress, a decision she attributed to a confluence of factors: the rising burden of healthcare premiums, the escalating conflict in Gaza, and, significantly, the deepening rifts she observed within the Republican Party itself. Indeed, Greene has been on a journey of disengagement for a while, having previously, in June, announced she was 'done' with her former party. She's also publicly rejected the MAGA movement itself, candidly labeling it 'a big lie' and 'donor-driven,' long before this latest dust-up. It appears this condemnation of Loomer is simply the latest, and perhaps most definitive, sign of a conservative figure charting a dramatically different course.
