Ghaziabad Police's 'Operation Talash' Reunites 52 Missing Souls with Families in Month-Long Drive

Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – In a heartwarming testament to relentless dedication, the Ghaziabad Police have successfully orchestrated the reunion of 52 missing individuals with their families during a special month-long operation. Christened 'Operation Talash' (meaning 'search'), this extraordinary drive, which commenced on September 15, brought profound relief and joy to dozens of families who had endured the anguish of separation.

Out of the 52 individuals recovered, a significant 38 were children, some of whom had been missing for several years, their cases having gone cold.

Additionally, 14 adults were located and safely returned home. This impressive feat underscores the commitment of the district police to addressing the often-overlooked plight of missing persons.

To achieve this remarkable success, the Ghaziabad district police meticulously formed ten dedicated teams.

These teams adopted a proactive and compassionate approach, venturing beyond standard investigative procedures. They visited the homes of missing persons, engaging in deep conversations with family members to gather fresh insights, and meticulously reviewed old case files, seeking any overlooked clues.

Their tireless efforts extended across various regions, with individuals being traced and recovered from diverse locations including Delhi-NCR, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, and various parts of Uttar Pradesh.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ghaziabad, Muniraj G, lauded the exceptional efforts of his teams, emphasizing the critical importance of such initiatives.

He highlighted that many of these cases were not recent, some dating back years, making the recoveries particularly challenging and rewarding. The police chief noted that the successful completion of 'Operation Talash' has reduced the total number of missing persons cases in Ghaziabad from 226 to 174, signaling significant progress in their ongoing efforts.

Among the many poignant stories of reunion, one involved a 12-year-old girl who had been missing since 2017.

Years of uncertainty finally ended when she was located in Delhi and reunited with her family. Another equally moving case saw a 13-year-old girl, who disappeared in 2018, also found in Delhi. After six long years, she was finally able to embrace her family once more. These stories are a powerful reminder of the enduring hope that 'Operation Talash' has reignited within the community, showcasing the profound impact of dedicated police work on human lives.
