From AI‑Driven Fields to Bigger Farm Incomes – PM Modi to Speak at Kisan Tak 2026

Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deliver the plenary address at India Today’s Kisan Tak Bharat Agriculture Conference 2026

The two‑day summit in New Delhi will host 2,000 farmers, scientists and policymakers to discuss smart farming, climate‑resilient crops and ways to lift farmer incomes.

New Delhi, Nov 8 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will close the India Today Group’s Kisan Tak Bharat Agriculture Conference 2026 with a plenary address on November 12. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam, brings together roughly 2,000 participants – from small‑scale growers to senior ministers, researchers and industry giants.

Under the banner “Smart Kisan, Viksit Bharat,” the conference is co‑presented by Mahindra Tractors and Mahadhan Agritech. Its agenda is crystal clear: boost farmer incomes, weave cutting‑edge technology into everyday fields, and shore up climate resilience while expanding India’s agri‑exports.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan says the summit will sketch a fresh roadmap for the sector. “Smart farming isn’t just gadgets; it’s about soil health, cutting costs and delivering real‑world profit to our food‑providers,” he told reporters.

Twenty farmers from diverse corners of the country will share their stories. Among them are Padma Shri awardees Rahibai Soma Popere, Trinity Saioo, Nek Ram Sharma, Sultan Singh and Sundaram Verma – each showcasing innovations ranging from precision sowing to climate‑tolerant varieties.

Sessions will dig into AI‑powered resource management, precision agriculture, and how to unclog supply‑chain bottlenecks. The timing feels apt, as the Economic Survey 2025‑26 notes a record 357.73 million tonnes of food grains harvested, while agriculture still employs nearly half of India’s workforce.

“Agriculture is India’s biggest profession; its future decides our nation’s destiny,” says Aroon Purie, Chairman of the India Today Group. “By linking farmers directly with scientists, policymakers and industry, we hope to spark tech‑enabled prosperity that lasts.”

Vice‑Chairperson Kalli Purie adds, “The grit and ingenuity we see in villages deserve a national stage. The Prime Minister’s presence will amplify those voices and reinforce the idea that a ‘Smart Kisan’ is the heartbeat of a Viksit Bharat.”

Alongside Modi, several Union ministers – JP Nadda, Piyush Goyal and Chirag Paswan – will attend, as will chief ministers from Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. International bodies such as the International Potato Center, ICRISAT, WorldFish and the International Water Management Institute are also on the roster.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment President Veejay Nakra believes technology can make farming both more productive and rewarding. “Our larger responsibility is to make farming easier, more profitable, and ready for the next growth phase,” he said.

The conference isn’t all data and policy; cultural performances by Padma Shri folk singer Prahlad Tipanya, poet Rudra Pratap Rudra and Bhojpuri star Chandan Tiwari will punctuate the agenda, with actor‑MP Manoj Tiwari also on stage.

Modi’s address will cap the two‑day gathering, aiming to stitch together the many threads of innovation, entrepreneurship and climate action into a single, forward‑looking vision for Indian agriculture.
