Fresno’s Winter Village Returns to Mariposa Plaza Dec. 4

Now that Halloween’s glow has faded, most of us are already thinking about Thanksgiving tables and the sparkle of Christmas. In the heart of downtown Fresno that means one thing: the Winter Village at Mariposa Plaza is gearing up for its annual debut.

Mark your calendars – the outdoor ice‑skating rink officially swings open on December 4. Imagine gliding under a canopy of twinkling Christmas‑tree lights, the night sky dotted with stars, and the faint hum of holiday music drifting from nearby booths. It’s the sort of scene that feels straight out of a classic holiday movie.

Tickets are on sale right now, and you can grab them online before the line forms at the plaza. Prices start at $16.95 for kids eight and under, and $20.25 for anyone nine or older. The cost includes a pair of skates, so you don’t have to lug your own gear to the rink.

Families love the Winter Village because it’s low‑key yet festive. Parents can sip hot cocoa while watching the little ones wobble and find their balance, and there’s plenty of room to snap photos with the glittering backdrop. Plus, Action News is proud to sponsor the event, which adds a little extra community spirit.

If you’re planning a holiday outing, consider pairing the rink with a stroll through the nearby shops or a quick bite at one of the local eateries. The whole area transforms into a winter wonderland, making it a perfect spot for dates, family days, or even a solo night of skating under the stars.

So, whether you’re an experienced skater or someone who’s never laced up a pair before, the Winter Village at Mariposa Plaza invites you to join in the fun. Grab your tickets, bundle up, and get ready to make some frosty memories this December.
