Frankfort Bar Hit by Another Burglary, Gaming Machines Vandalized

Just after dawn on Monday, deputies from the Will County Sheriff’s Office received a frantic call at 5:06 a.m. reporting a burglary in progress at The Chill House, a local bar tucked into the 7900 block of West Lincoln Highway.

According to surveillance footage, three individuals dressed head‑to‑toe in black and each wearing a face mask hammered away at the storefront glass with sledgehammers. The glass gave way, and the intruders made a beeline for the gaming area, ripping cash drawers out of several slot‑type machines.

They vanished in a vehicle that police have not yet identified. No arrests have been made, and the suspects remain at large.

This isn’t the first time The Chill House has been targeted. Just a little over a month ago, the same bar suffered a remarkably similar smash‑and‑grab, leaving owners and patrons alike on edge.

In response, the sheriff’s office has convened a task‑force meeting with other local agencies to hash out strategies against these recurring crimes. “We’re staying proactive,” a spokesperson said, emphasizing the department’s commitment to curbing burglaries that zero in on gambling equipment.
