Fourth Teen Suspect Apprehended in Horrific Oshawa Swarming Attack

In a significant development in a case that has rattled the Oshawa community, Durham Regional Police have announced the apprehension of a fourth teenage suspect linked to a brutal swarming attack that occurred earlier this year. The 15-year-old boy was arrested on Monday, March 11, and now faces serious charges of robbery and aggravated assault, bringing the total number of arrests in this harrowing incident to four.

The violent encounter unfolded in the early hours of Saturday, February 10, around 1:20 a.m.

in the vicinity of Bond Street East and Centre Street North. A 24-year-old man was reportedly set upon by a group of individuals in what investigators describe as a swarming attack. The assailants not only robbed the victim but also subjected him to a violent assault, leaving him with significant injuries.

Following the attack, emergency services transported the victim to a local hospital.

He sustained serious but thankfully non-life-threatening injuries, requiring extensive medical attention. The sheer brutality of the incident sent shockwaves through the quiet community, prompting an immediate and thorough investigation by the Durham Regional Police Service.

Detectives from the Major Crime Unit have been working tirelessly on the case.

Their initial efforts led to the arrests of three 14-year-old boys in February, shortly after the incident. Each of these younger suspects was also charged with robbery and aggravated assault, underscoring the severe nature of the crimes committed.

With the latest arrest, police are reiterating their commitment to bringing all responsible parties to justice.
