Pecoy Copper’s Exploration Program Ramps Up with Four Active Drilling Rigs
A year after debuting on the TSX Venture Exchange, Pecoy Copper has gone from zero to four operating drill rigs at its flagship project in southern Peru. The 2026 program, fully funded, targets roughly 35,000 metres of drilling to expand the known porphyry system.
It’s hard to believe that just twelve months ago Pecoy Copper Corp. was still waiting for the first sound of a drill bit at its flagship Pecoy project. Fast‑forward to today, and the scene looks very different – four full‑size drill rigs are humming away across the high‑altitude terrain of the Arequipa region, and a fifth rig is already on the drawing board.
The jump from “no active drilling” to “four rigs on the ground” reflects the company’s aggressive 2026 exploration budget, which is fully funded and set to deliver about 35,000 metres of core. Those metres won’t just be poured over the same old holes; they’re aimed at expanding the known copper‑gold‑molybdenum‑silver mineralization, testing a handful of high‑priority targets, and sharpening the overall picture of the massive porphyry system that underlies the project.
When Pecoy Copper first listed on the TSX Venture Exchange on September 8, 2025 (ticker PCU), it did so with a clear promise: to turn the modest, historic discovery into a world‑class asset. The current drilling campaign is the first big step toward that promise. Over the next twelve months the rigs will cut holes in three main zones – the Main Zone, the South Breccia and the newly opened Northwest area – each offering its own set of tantalising assay results.
“We’re moving at a pace that feels both exciting and responsible,” says Vincent Metcalfe, President and CEO. “Our teams on the ground, together with local contractors and community partners, are committed to keeping the project on schedule while respecting the environment and the people who call this region home.”
Technical oversight is in safe hands. The scientific and technical content of this release has been reviewed and approved by Vincent Cardin‑Tremblay, P.Geo., Pecoy’s Chief Geological Officer and a Qualified Person under NI 43‑101. His sign‑off assures investors that the drilling plans meet industry standards for disclosure.
Beyond the rigs, Pecoy Copper is also advancing the neighboring Tororume Project, together covering roughly 19,800 hectares of porphyry potential. Both projects sit at about 1,650 m above sea level and enjoy good access to power, water and Pacific‑coast ports – logistical advantages that many comparable projects lack.
The company’s shares trade on the TSX Venture Exchange (PCU), the Frankfurt Stock Exchange (D5E) and the OTCQB (PCUUF). Investors can follow the drilling updates, assay results and quarterly reports as the campaign unfolds.
