Former Classmate’s Betrayal: 21‑Year‑Old Student Exploited After Intimate Video Was Circulated, Pune Police Arrest Four

A 21‑year‑old girl from Alandi Road, who is currently pursuing her graduation in Camp, has become the victim of a chilling exploitation saga that began back in her college days at Wagholi.

According to the FIR lodged with Wagholi police, a young man she knew from a Mundhwa classmate claimed he was "in love" with her. He invited her over to a flat in Wagholi under the pretext of a private meeting. Once inside, he forced an intimate act and, shockingly, recorded the whole episode.

She left Wagholi for further studies in Camp, but the alleged perpetrator didn’t let go that easily. He kept calling, kept showing up, and eventually decided to use that video as a weapon.

The recorded clip was passed on to his brother and two other friends—all college students themselves. They started to blackmail the girl, threatening to leak the footage unless she complied with their demands. The harassment didn’t stay confined to one place; they reportedly forced her into further sexual exploitation at several locations across the city.

When the distress became unbearable, the student finally approached the police. The investigation led the Wagholi police to register a case and book the four accused—her former classmate, his brother, and the two friends—for sexual exploitation and blackmail.

Police have said that the probe is still ongoing and that they are gathering further evidence. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked a conversation about the need for stricter cyber‑crime laws and better awareness among students about consent and digital privacy.
