Five Lives Lost: Devastating Thar Crash Rocks Gurugram Highway

A tragic incident on the Gurugram-Delhi-Jaipur highway has left five people dead and one critically injured after a Mahindra Thar SUV lost control and collided with a road divider in the early hours of Sunday. The devastating accident occurred near Manesar, casting a pall of gloom over the start of the week.

According to reports from authorities, the ill-fated Thar SUV, bearing registration number DL-4 CAC-0870, was carrying six individuals when the driver reportedly lost control.

The vehicle veered off course, crashing violently into the central divider and subsequently an iron railing, around 4:00 AM. The impact was severe, leaving the vehicle mangled and the occupants in a dire state.

Emergency services and local police from the Manesar police station swiftly responded to the scene.

They were met with a grim sight, where five of the six occupants had succumbed to their injuries on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Paras (22), Rajesh (26), Nitesh (22), Deepak (21), and Rahul (22). All five were residents of Haryana's Bhiwani district, a community now mourning a profound loss.

The sole survivor, Nitesh (23), a resident of Gurugram, sustained critical injuries in the crash.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he is currently fighting for his life. Medical personnel are providing intensive care, but his condition remains precarious.

Police have initiated a thorough investigation into the accident. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the law.

While the exact cause is still under investigation, preliminary observations suggest that high speed and the driver losing control were significant factors in this catastrophic event. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the perils of highway driving and the importance of road safety.
