Perched majestically amidst the verdant hills of Shimla, the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) has unveiled a breathtaking new attraction: the "Sunset View Café." This much-anticipated addition promises visitors an unforgettable experience, combining unparalleled panoramic views with a taste of history and serene relaxation.

Situated within the iconic Viceregal Lodge, a monumental edifice steeped in colonial charm and historical significance, the café offers a spectacular vantage point to witness Shimla's famed sunsets, painting the sky with a riot of colors as the day gently fades.

The café was formally inaugurated by Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, who lauded the initiative for enhancing Shimla’s appeal as a premier tourist destination.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor emphasized that this new facility will not only draw more tourists but also provide a tranquil haven for locals and students alike. He highlighted Shimla's inherent natural beauty, stating that the Sunset View Café complements this charm perfectly, offering a unique opportunity to relax and immerse oneself in the stunning Himalayan landscape.

More than just a place to enjoy a beverage, the Sunset View Café is an integral part of the larger IIAS visitor experience.

The Viceregal Lodge, once the summer retreat of British Viceroys, is a living testament to India's rich past.
