The move comes as part of a proactive effort to ensure the well-being of citizens, particularly with upcoming celebrations like Deepavali, where firecracker use traditionally sees a significant surge.

Collector Sunkara's instructions are clear and uncompromising: every firecracker shop operating within the district must adhere to a comprehensive set of safety protocols.

Foremost among these is the absolute necessity of possessing a valid license. This isn't merely a bureaucratic formality but a crucial step to ensure that only authorized and regulated establishments are permitted to handle potentially hazardous materials.

Beyond licensing, the Collector has placed a significant emphasis on the safe storage of firecrackers.

Shops are mandated to store these items in designated, secure locations, far from combustible materials and away from public thoroughfares. This strict adherence to storage guidelines aims to prevent accidental ignitions and minimize the risk of large-scale incidents. Furthermore, every single shop must be equipped with adequate fire safety measures, including readily accessible fire extinguishers, sand buckets, and trained personnel capable of handling minor emergencies.
