Edinburgh Rockers extend unbeaten run with emphatic win over Glasgow Cosmic

At the picturesque Voorburg Cricket Club in the Netherlands, the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) saw its 16th encounter turn into a classic Scottish showdown. Edinburgh Castle Rockers, fresh off a win against the same opponents in the opening derby, rolled up their sleeves for a second clash with Glasgow Cosmic.

Glasgow won the toss and elected to bat. The opening pair – Jason Roy and Finn Allen – gave them a decent start, putting 30 on the board before Allen was caught for just nine. Roy didn’t last much longer either, dismissed for 20. Then came George Munsey, who added a quick‑fire 31 off 24 balls, pushing the total forward before captain Tom Curran took his wicket at 72 for three.

That was the moment when Liam Livingstone and Richie Berrington really cranked up the tempo. Enter the partnership that stole the show: Andries Gous and Brandon McMullen. Over 68 balls they stitched together 108 runs, flipping the script entirely. Gous played the anchor, scoring a tidy 49 off 40 balls with five fours and a six, while McMullen took a more aggressive stance, smashing an unbeaten 82 off 47 deliveries.

When Lungi Ngidi finally removed Gous at 136, the groundwork was already set. McMullen, now joined by Laurie Evans, needed just 23 more runs from the last four overs. They nudged the scoreboard gently, and Edinburgh crossed the line at 163 for three with six balls to spare – a comfortable seven‑wicket win.

The victory not only gave the Rockers another scalp against Glasgow but also kept them as the sole unbeaten side in the tournament. McMullen’s knock, blistering yet composed, proved decisive, while Gous’s steady contribution provided the platform for a seamless chase. For Glasgow, despite a valiant finish from Berrington and Livingstone, the target proved just a shade too high.
