Disturbing Case Unfolds: Hyderabad Flying Instructor Accused of Rape and Extensive Manipulation

Hyderabad's aviation training sector finds itself under a cloud after a shocking case emerged from Begumpet. A senior flying instructor, responsible for guiding aspiring pilots, has been arrested following deeply disturbing allegations of sexual assault, financial exploitation, and severe emotional manipulation made by one of his students.

The accused, P. Venkateswara Rao, aged 45, who served as the chief flying instructor at a private academy, now faces serious charges. A 24-year-old woman, a student pilot under his tutelage, bravely stepped forward to report a harrowing ordeal that reportedly unfolded over a considerable period, leaving her not only traumatized but also financially devastated.

According to the police complaint, Venkateswara Rao allegedly exploited his position of authority and trust. He's accused of sexually assaulting the student, all while stringing her along with false promises of marriage and a shared future. What's particularly egregious is the alleged financial aspect of this manipulation; he is accused of siphoning off a substantial sum, reportedly around Rs 25 lakh, from the young woman. These funds, it's claimed, were taken under various pretexts – from essential license fees and pilot training costs to fabricated medical expenses for his parents and even supposed business ventures.

The student, who was deeply invested in her aviation career and reliant on her instructor, found herself in an incredibly vulnerable position. The situation, already dire, was further compounded by threats. She told authorities that Venkateswara Rao repeatedly warned her that if she dared to expose his actions, he would not only jeopardize her budding career but also inflict harm upon her family. This kind of intimidation, you see, creates a terrifying trap for victims, often making them feel utterly helpless and isolated.

It was only after a period of immense suffering and, one can imagine, a realization that she was being thoroughly cheated and abused, that the brave student decided to approach the authorities. The Begumpet police acted swiftly upon receiving her complaint. They have since registered a case against P. Venkateswara Rao under several stringent sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Specifically, the instructor faces charges under Section 376 for rape, Section 420 for cheating, and Section 506 for criminal intimidation.
