Distraction Theft Alert: Trio Sought in Scarborough Robbery

Toronto Police are on the hunt for three suspects involved in a cunning distraction theft that occurred in Scarborough. Authorities released images of the individuals on Thursday, urging the public to come forward with any information that could lead to their apprehension.

The incident unfolded on April 27, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Brimley Road and Lawrence Avenue East.

A man was reportedly exiting a bank when he was approached by two individuals. While one suspect engaged him in conversation, the other surreptitiously removed a significant amount of cash from his bag.

Following the swift and coordinated theft, the two suspects quickly fled the scene. They were then observed entering a waiting vehicle, driven by a third accomplice, before making their escape.

The first suspect is described as a man with a medium build, last seen wearing a black cap, a black jacket, and black pants.

The second suspect is a woman, also with a medium build, who was wearing a black jacket and black pants at the time of the incident.

The third suspect, believed to be the getaway driver, is described as a man with a large build, who was seen wearing a black mask, a black jacket, and light blue pants.

Police are emphasizing the importance of community assistance in identifying these individuals to prevent further such incidents.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the event, has dashcam footage from the area at the time, or possesses any information regarding the identities or whereabouts of the suspects to contact them.
