Deputies Fire Shots at Armed Man During Labor Day Domestic Violence Call in Lancaster

On the morning of Labor Day, just before 10 a.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department rolled up to the 44,000 block of 15th Street West in Lancaster. The call they received was grim: a domestic‑violence dispute in which a man allegedly brandished a firearm and tried to force his ex‑wife into a car.

According to the department’s initial report, the suspect had his ex‑wife in a headlock while holding a handgun. When deputies arrived and ordered him to drop the weapon, he ignored the commands and fired at the officers. In response, a deputy returned fire, striking the suspect.

The injured man was quickly rushed to a nearby hospital. As of the latest update, he remains in stable condition. Thankfully, neither the deputies nor the victim suffered physical injuries during the confrontation.

Witnesses nearby say they heard the tense exchange from their homes. One neighbor recounted, “I could see the car pull up, the guy stepped out with a gun.
