Dearborn Police Shoot Armed Man After Disturbance on New York Street

Late Friday night, just before the clock struck 11 p.m., officers from the Dearborn Police Department responded to a call about a disturbance on the 24,000 block of New York Street. Neighbors reported a man yelling repeatedly, “die, die, die,” and creating a scene that alarmed the community.

When the officers arrived, the man—identified as a 53‑year‑old—emerged from a nearby house clutching what witnesses described as a “long gun.” He continued to shout, his voice echoing down the quiet residential street.
