Coaldale's Winter Wonderland Awaits!

Get ready, Coaldale! The crisp autumn air is quickly giving way to the enchanting spirit of winter, and with it, the much-anticipated return of the town's beloved Winter Fest. This year marks its third delightful iteration, promising a whole season brimming with community warmth, dazzling lights, and plenty of opportunities to make cherished memories.

Things kick off in spectacular fashion with the truly iconic Country Christmas Night of Lights on November 27th. Can you believe this is the 26th time Coaldale will be transformed into a twinkling wonderland? It’s a tradition that’s been warming hearts for over a quarter-century, and honestly, the parade is an absolute highlight. Picture this: floats draped in countless lights, music filling the air, and that wonderful buzz of excitement as families line the streets, all bundled up and ready for the magic.

Mayor Jack Van Rijn, someone who clearly understands the heart of Coaldale, perfectly captured the essence of Winter Fest. He remarked how it beautifully "brings families, friends and neighbours together to celebrate the season," adding that it "feels like stepping into a Hallmark movie." And you know what? He’s absolutely right. There's a special, almost tangible charm to it all.

But the fun doesn't stop there, not by a long shot! Mark your calendars for December 12th, because that's when the Glow Skate lights up the rink. Imagine gliding across the ice, surrounded by a luminous glow – it sounds pretty magical, doesn't it? Beyond these specific dates, Coaldale's Civic Plaza will also be hosting its Winter Series throughout December and January, ensuring there's always something festive happening to chase away the winter blues.

So, whether you’re a long-time resident or just looking for a truly charming winter experience, Coaldale's Winter Fest offers an open invitation. Come immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere, support local, and maybe, just maybe, find yourself believing in a little bit of winter magic.
