Claremore Softball Battles Hard, Splits Games at Broken Arrow Festival

The Claremore Zebras softball squad faced a true test of their mettle this past weekend, splitting their contests at the highly competitive Broken Arrow Festival. It was a day of high drama, tight margins, and ultimately, a powerful display of the team's ability to bounce back.

The festival kicked off with a heartbreaking clash against Moore, a game that went down to the wire and saw the Zebras fall just short in a 4-3 decision.

From the first pitch, it was clear this would be a tightly contested affair. Claremore managed to put runs on the board with seven hits, but Moore consistently found answers, eventually sealing their victory with a pivotal run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Despite the tough loss, individual performances shone bright for Claremore.

Emily Rogers was a force at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and scoring two crucial runs. Layla Faught contributed with an RBI, while Jaylee Moore also drove in a run with a timely single. On the mound, Kynley Morton battled bravely through six innings, conceding four earned runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking three.

Emily Rogers continued her stellar day, cementing her status as a key offensive weapon by going a perfect 3-for-3, including a towering home run and driving in an impressive four RBIs. Jaylee Moore was equally impactful, adding a double and two RBIs to her 2-for-3 performance. Grace Crow also contributed significantly, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs, while Kenliegh Maxwell chipped in with an RBI single.

The pitching against Dewey was equally impressive.

Kynlee Dyson delivered a masterclass from the circle, shutting down Dewey's offense completely. Over five flawless innings, Dyson allowed zero earned runs on just two hits, striking out seven batters and walking only one. Her command and precision ensured Dewey never found their rhythm, securing the emphatic shutout victory for Claremore.
