Chaos on the Tracks: Actress Antara Banerjee's Dramatic Train Arrest Unfolds

That's precisely what passengers on the Aravali Express reportedly experienced on August 12th, when model and web series actress Antara Soham Banerjee found herself at the center of a truly dramatic and concerning incident, leading to her subsequent arrest.

Hailing from Thane and originally from Kolkata, the 31-year-old was reportedly en route to Surat for a shoot. The trouble, it seems, began when Ms. Banerjee, despite holding a sleeper-class ticket, chose to occupy a reserved seat in an AC coach. What started as a seemingly straightforward ticketing dispute quickly spiraled, according to reports, as she allegedly refused to vacate the seat and began verbally abusing both the Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and the ticket collector on duty.

But then, the situation reportedly took a truly alarming turn. RPF Assistant Sub-Inspector Yaminikant Mishra, along with Constable Rajesh Kumar and Ticket Collector Harikesh Tripathi, were attempting to manage the escalating conflict. That's when Ms. Banerjee is accused of physically assaulting ASI Mishra with a razor blade, causing injuries to him – and, in the process, to herself as well. To make matters worse, she also allegedly damaged the officer's uniform and his mobile phone, adding further chaos to the already tense situation.

As the incident unfolded, lasting for well over an hour between Borivali and Dahanu stations, the allegations against Ms. Banerjee continued to mount. She reportedly attempted a daring escape by trying to break an AC coach window, and, quite shockingly, is also accused of undressing herself during the altercation. The entire ordeal left fellow passengers utterly shaken and distressed. When authorities finally managed to de-board her at Dahanu station, she reportedly refused to contact any relatives or seek legal assistance, instead demanding to be arrested.

Following the tumultuous events, Borivali railway police took Ms. Banerjee into custody the following morning. Senior Inspector Pandrinath Kande and Inspector Kunda Gavade confirmed that an FIR was lodged, and she was booked under a litany of serious charges. These included assault on public servants, causing harm, endangering safety, and intentional insult, reflecting the severity of the alleged actions. Ultimately, she was released after being served a notice under the new Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, though the exact bail details remain a bit less clear in public reporting.
