Celebrating 47 Years: The Ruthven Apple Festival Returns with Heart!

Happening this very weekend at the always-charming Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens in Ruthven, Ontario, the festival promises two full days of family-friendly fun. Mark your calendars for Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. right through to 5 p.m. It's truly a full day of festivities!

What’s on the menu, you ask? Well, as the name suggests, apples are definitely the star of the show! But beyond those crisp, juicy delights, you'll find an absolute treasure trove of local vendors, live entertainment that’ll get your toes tapping, and, of course, some truly scrumptious food that perfectly captures the essence of autumn. And for those who love a bit of automotive flair, don't miss the classic car show rolling in on Sunday, shining bright from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

But here’s the real heart of the festival: it's a huge fundraiser for Community Living Essex County. This amazing organization provides crucial support for over 700 children and adults with intellectual disabilities right across our beautiful Essex County. Janell Violet, who manages Community Relations and Resource Development for them, really summed it up perfectly when she said the festival is absolutely "instrumental" for their work. It's how they keep doing what they do, providing housing, support, and a pathway to inclusion for so many.
