California Labor Day Weekend Weather Outlook: Sun, Surf, and a Few Showers

Planning a road trip or beach day for Labor Day? For most of the state the weather looks pretty friendly, but there are a few nuances to keep in mind.

Travelers heading south should brace for a bit more variety. Around Los Angeles and San Diego, early mornings will be foggy, but the sun usually breaks through by mid‑day. Saturday looks mostly dry, yet by Sunday a whisper of tropical moisture—remnants of the system that was once Tropical Storm Marie—starts to slip inland. That means scattered showers and a dash of rain on Sunday night into Monday, though amounts will be light and flooding isn’t a concern.
