The incident unfolded in the Sukma district, where heavy rainfall had caused the Sabari River to swell dangerously, isolating an individual amidst the powerful flow.

Faced with escalating water levels and the immediate threat to life, an urgent call for assistance was made, prompting the IAF to mobilize its rapid response capabilities.

Responding swiftly to the distress call, Headquarters Western Air Command tasked the valiant 153 Helicopter Unit, based at Air Force Station Yelahanka.
