Following India's spectacular triumph in the Asia Cup, the air, instead of being filled solely with celebratory cheers, quickly became thick with political accusations. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) wasted no time in launching a fierce broadside against the Congress party and its prominent leader, Rahul Gandhi, accusing them of a shocking alignment with Pakistan's narrative, particularly concerning the sensitive issue of Kashmir.

They highlighted previous instances where Congress leaders had made statements that, according to the BJP, seemed to undermine national interests, such as questioning surgical strikes or the Pulwama attack, which Pakistan had orchestrated.
