Bike Dragged 100 Metres After Collision with a 73‑Year‑Old Driver’s Car in Delhi’s RK Puram

On the night of September 17, 2026, a quiet stretch of Africa Avenue Road in Delhi’s RK Puram turned into a surprising spectacle. Around 10 p.m., a blue Honda Amaze, steered by 73‑year‑old Venu Gopal of Vasant Kunj, rammed into a black motorcycle that was merely parked on the curb.

The rider, 21‑year‑old Tanish Tokas, a local from Munirka Village, was perched on the bike when the impact hurled him onto the pavement. In a bizarre twist, the car didn’t stop; it kept rolling, dragging the motorcycle behind it for roughly a hundred metres – a distance you can almost see on a city map.

Video footage that quickly went viral captured the whole ordeal: the car’s front end striking the bike, sparks flickering, the motorcycle wobbling and finally being pulled along the road like a reluctant train carriage. The charges cite Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, pointing to dangerous driving and negligence.

Investigators are still piecing together why a driver of Gopal’s age and experience would speed through a residential street and, more puzzlingly, why the car didn’t halt after the collision.
