Bihar: A Cradle of Ancient Culture and Modern Empowerment

Speaking at the 'Tulsi ke Ram' event in Patna recently, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary painted a vivid picture of the state, firmly declaring it a 'land of a golden era' and the very heart of Sanatan culture. It's quite a statement, really, connecting the dots between Bihar's profound past and its contemporary identity.

The Chief Minister wasn't shy about acknowledging the immense contributions of historical figures, giving a nod to literary giants like Tulsidas and, of course, the spiritual guiding light of Lord Ram. Indeed, he credited much of Bihar's enduring progress to their legacies. And let's not forget the ancient strategist Chanakya, who, a staggering two and a half millennia ago, first dreamt of an 'Akhand Bharat' – an undivided India – right from the very soil of Magadh here. What a thought, to think that such a foundational vision originated from this very region!

This profound sense of legacy, however, isn't just about looking back. Bihar, under CM Chaudhary's leadership, is also keenly focused on forging a brighter, safer future, especially for its women. It’s truly impressive to see such a strong emphasis on empowerment and protection.

During the event, three major schemes were rolled out, all designed to bolster women's standing and safety. Top of the list is the 'Police Didi' campaign, a wonderfully proactive measure. This initiative will see female police personnel deployed directly into educational institutions – a comforting presence, don't you think? To make sure they're effective and mobile, approximately 2,700 scooties and over 2,000 motorcycles have been allocated. With around 40,000 female police personnel already serving across Bihar, this campaign truly leverages their vital presence.

Then there's the ongoing refinement of the 'Dial 112' helpline. The goal here is simple but critical: rapid response. The emergency response time has already been commendably reduced to under 10 minutes, and the target is to shrink that even further, aiming for an impressive 5 to 7 minutes. Every second counts in an emergency, so this focus is paramount.

Finally, the immensely successful JEEViKA initiative continues to empower women, particularly through its 'Lakhpati Didis' program. It's a testament to grassroots efforts: 1.81 crore women are now associated with JEEViKA, with over 70 lakh 'JEEViKA Didis' actively working to uplift their communities. An astounding 43 lakh of these women have already achieved the 'Lakhpati Didi' status, becoming financially independent. And the ambition doesn't stop there – the government aims to elevate another one lakh women to this status within the next two years. It's an inspiring trajectory, showcasing Bihar's commitment to both its rich cultural past and a dynamically progressive future.
