Bhopal Authorities Quash Rumors: No Meat or Egg Ban During Navratri

The city of Bhopal was recently abuzz with speculation and concern following widespread rumors suggesting an imminent ban on the sale of meat and eggs during the auspicious Navratri festival. Social media platforms and local discussions were filled with talk of restrictions from April 9 to 17, causing unease among vendors and consumers alike.

However, clarity has now emerged directly from the highest echelons of the Bhopal administration.

Top officials have vehemently denied these reports, assuring the public that no such prohibition is in effect or planned. Municipal Corporation Commissioner Harendra Narayan and Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh have both stepped forward to unequivocally state that the circulating news is entirely false and without any basis.

Addressing the growing concerns, Commissioner Narayan affirmed, "No such order has been issued by the Municipal Corporation." Echoing this sentiment, Collector Singh further clarified, "No such instructions have been issued by the district administration either." Their statements put to rest the widespread confusion, confirming that these rumors lack any official backing from either governmental departments or the municipal body.

It's worth noting that while a memorandum requesting such a ban was indeed submitted by BJP councillor Rajesh Singh Rathore to the district administration, these requests have evidently not translated into any official directives.

The administration has made it clear that despite such propositions, no action has been taken to implement any form of restriction on the sale of non-vegetarian items during the nine-day festival.
