Bajal's Heartfelt Christmas Caroling: A Community Unites in Song and Spirit

Ah, the festive season! There's something undeniably magical about it, isn't there? And for the vibrant community in Bajal, this past December 23rd was no exception. What a splendid evening it was, all thanks to the thoughtful collaboration between the Christian Youth Movement (CYM) Bajal Unit and the Catholic Sabha Bajal Unit. Together, they orchestrated a truly heartwarming event: the "Christmas Carols and Celebration - 2024" right there on the grounds of St. Joseph The Worker Church Bajal.

You could feel the anticipation in the air, a kind of gentle hum as families gathered. And why not? This wasn't just another event; it was a testament to community spirit. The esteemed Rev Fr Ronald Pinto, Parish Priest of Bejai Church, graced the occasion as the chief guest, imparting some wonderfully profound thoughts. He spoke not just of celebration, but of the very essence of Christmas – the boundless love, the peace, and the harmonious spirit that binds us all. It was a beautiful reminder, truly, that this season is so much more than just gifts and tinsel; it's about connection.

Of course, no such gathering would be complete without some truly special guests. Rev Fr Andrew D'Souza, the Parish Priest of Bajal Church, was there, alongside Mr. Anil Lobo, Chairman of MCC Bank Ltd., and Mr. Stany Crasta, our local Ward Councilor. Even Mr. Naveen D'Souza, proprietor of Nithyadhar Saw Mill, joined in the festivities. Each, in their own way, underscored the importance of community and the joy of coming together. It really does take a village, doesn't it?

But let's be honest, the true stars of the evening were, perhaps predictably, the carols! The air filled with the sweet, melodic sounds of Christmas as various church choirs took to the stage. From Bondel to Neermarga, Cordel to Derebail, and of course, Bajal's own talented choir, each performance was a little gift of harmony. It’s funny, isn't it, how music just… reaches you, especially during this time of year?

And it wasn't just singing! Oh no. The CYM members, bless their creative hearts, put on a captivating Christmas Tableau, bringing the age-old story to life. And then, for the little ones (and, let's face it, the young at heart), Santa Claus made his grand, jolly appearance, spreading smiles and cheer. There was even a distribution of traditional Christmas Kuswar, a lovely touch, and a lively cake auction that added to the fun. All these little details, you see, they just weave together to create a tapestry of pure, unadulterated festive joy.

This entire evening, you could say, was meticulously planned and executed. Much credit, honestly, goes to the organizing committee: Seema Fernandes, the dynamic CYM President, and Preetham Rodrigues, the diligent CYM Secretary. Not to forget Anil D'Souza, President of Catholic Sabha, and Ashwin Monteiro, their capable Secretary. Their efforts ensured that the Christmas Carols and Celebration - 2024 was more than just an event; it was a vibrant expression of unity, peace, and the enduring spirit of Christmas. And for that, Bajal certainly owes them a hearty round of applause!
