Assam CID Intensifies Probe: Zubeen Garg's Viscera Report Sent for Crucial Analysis

In a significant development concerning the alleged assault on popular Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, the Assam Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has officially confirmed the receipt of the viscera report. This crucial document has now been dispatched to the State Forensic Science Laboratory in Guwahati for comprehensive analysis, marking a pivotal step in the ongoing investigation.

The incident, which sent shockwaves through the region, occurred on August 26 when Zubeen Garg was reportedly physically assaulted in Guwahati.

Following the unsettling event, a complaint was promptly lodged by his aide, Pinky Gogoi, leading to a swift and thorough response from law enforcement agencies.

Assam CID chief and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Harmeet Singh, addressing the media, affirmed that all pertinent medical reports, including the much-anticipated viscera report, have been received.

He emphasized the department's commitment to a meticulous investigation, stating that these reports are now undergoing expert examination to ascertain all facts related to the case.

The alleged assault led to the formation of a dedicated Special Investigation Team (SIT) tasked with unravelling the complexities of the incident.

Two individuals, identified as Anuj Barua and his brother Nabajyoti Barua, were subsequently arrested in connection with the case. They faced charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 341 (wrongful restraint), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 294 (obscene acts and songs), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

Both brothers were later released on bail.

Following the incident, Zubeen Garg was briefly hospitalized due to certain health complications. While concerns for his well-being were widespread, the singer later assured his fans that he was fine and soon resumed his professional commitments, demonstrating remarkable resilience.

The nature of the "viscera report" in an assault case, especially given his hospitalization for "health complications," suggests a thorough medical evaluation was conducted to understand the full impact of the incident on his health.
