Another Twist for KRK: Sent to Police Custody in 2019 Firing Case, Lawyer Cries 'Fabrication'

Well, it seems the legal troubles just keep piling up for Kamaal R. Khan, the ever-controversial film critic and actor, better known to many simply as KRK. Already behind bars following a 2020 defamation complaint, he's now been remanded into police custody for an entirely separate, and frankly, rather serious, incident dating all the way back to 2019.

The latest development saw him appear before the Borivali court, where authorities requested his custody in connection with a firing case. This particular incident, allegedly involving KRK, was registered at the Malad police station. It's quite the timing, isn't it? However, KRK's legal counsel, Advocate Ashok Sarogi, is having none of it. He's come out swinging, dismissing the entire firing case as nothing more than a 'fabricated' attempt to keep his client locked up longer. Sarogi emphatically argued that the charges, which include serious sections like 307 (attempt to murder) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code, are baseless. He implied that the police are deliberately invoking these tougher sections to prevent KRK from securing bail easily. Let's not forget, KRK was initially arrested from the Mumbai airport and brought before the Borivali court earlier, specifically concerning a defamation case filed by none other than Bollywood star Akshay Kumar and director Raghuvendra Singh.
